Absolutely loved playing with Rick King's Royal Hustle right next to the riverside at Docktoberfest! It was a beautiful landscape with so many people dancing to our music. We continue our weekly residency at Taylor Street Tap every Sunday growing our band and tune list! I have also released a video on my Daisy Rock Guitar, a guitar company that has an amazing message behind it, giving girls an even better chance to get into guitar playing. School is keeping me busy and I'm learning so much from the jazz classes I am taking!
I've had a great first month back in Chicago! It was great to be a part of the 40th anniversary for the famous blues club, B.L.U.E.S., on Halsted Street playing with Marty Sammon of Buddy Guy. I have also joined a group called Rick King's Royal Hustle that has a weekly gig at Taylor Street Tap every Sunday 8-12! I am currently in a Jazz Combo at DePaul University as well, also also got the Nanomuff distortion pedal! Looking forward to a great year!
Started out the month of August by jamming with Randy Lippincott and Dirty Deal at the Riverfront Blues Festival in Delaware! I also got the chance to visit the Red Lion and Bitter End to play with some phenomenal musicians from New York City. I also tried out busking at Suburban Station in Philadelphia over the last week and had a wonderful time sharing my music with the people there! Can't wait to head back to school!
It has been a great first month in Philadelphia for the summer! I had a couple of great shows including the a reunion show for Time Gap, a youth showcase of the blues players of Philadelphia, and playing in a benefit for the American Cancer Society! I have been writing a lot of music and learning a lot of new tunes on my Telecaster! I also got a lot of time to play my acoustic guitar on the beach!
They said it couldn't be done, but I did it! I had the time of my life playing at Chicago Blues Festival on the Rosa Lounge Stage (right next to the Bean!) with the Street Jaxkson Band! The entire festival was filled with incredible talent and I was honored to be a part of it all. Right after the festival I flew straight to Clarksdale, Mississippi for Pinetop Perkins's Workshop Experience. I had the pleasure of learning from the great Fiona Boyes from Australia and ending the week performing at Ground Zero. This is going to be a great summer!
